Who we are

Your VA Mate is a Melbourne based business that places Filipino virtual assistants with Australian businesses. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" means Your VA Mate. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

When you use our website or contact us, we may collect your name, business name, email address, phone number and anything you tell us in a form, email or call.

If you apply to work with us as a virtual assistant, we may also collect your location, work history, skills, availability, resume or LinkedIn link, and the results of any skills tests, English checks, interviews and reference checks.

Like most websites, ours also collects basic technical information such as your browser type, pages visited and general location, through cookies and similar tools.

How we use it

We use your information to respond to enquiries, work out whether a VA is right for you, match clients with VAs, assess applications, run our business and keep in touch with you. We won't sell your personal information.

Who we share it with

We share information only where it's needed to do the job. For example, we may share a candidate's profile with a client who is considering them, or a client's requirements with shortlisted candidates. We also use service providers such as email, hosting and software providers who store data for us.

Some of our team and candidates are based in the Philippines, so personal information may be accessed from or stored outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to make sure it's handled in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access. No system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee the security of information sent to us online.

Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing info@yourvamate.com.au. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

Complaints

If you have a concern about how we've handled your personal information, email us first and we'll try to sort it out. If you're not happy with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
