Services / Accounting and bookkeeping
Bookkeeping that's done before BAS time, not during it
Reconciliations, bills, invoices and payroll support in Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks. Your books stay tidy every week, so your accountant isn't starting from scratch.
What your VA can do
Books kept up to date every week
Your VA does the regular bookkeeping. Your accountant still does the advice and lodgement.
01
Bank reconciliations
Bank and credit card accounts reconciled regularly so the numbers are right.
02
Supplier bills
Bills entered, matched and ready for you to approve and pay.
03
Invoicing and debtors
Invoices sent on time and overdue ones chased politely but firmly.
04
Payroll support
Timesheets collected and pay runs prepared for you to check and approve.
05
Expense tracking
Receipts captured and coded so nothing gets missed at tax time.
06
Reports
Profit and loss, cash flow and aged debtors reports when you need them.
Who it suits
Good fit if the receipt pile keeps growing
If your books only get looked at when the BAS is due, a bookkeeping VA keeps things current so you always know where the money is.
Trades and construction
Job costs tracked, supplier bills entered and invoices out the same day the job's done.
Professional services
Recurring billing, time based invoices and expenses kept in order.
Small businesses of all kinds
Books kept clean and handed to your accountant ready to go.
How it works
From the first call to your VA's first day in a few weeks
1
We have a chat
We work out what to hand over, how many hours you need and which software your VA has to know.
2
We find the right people
Skills tests, an English check, reference checks and an interview. You meet the best two or three and pick.
3
We set them up
Your VA is logged into your systems with written processes before day one.
4
We stay involved
Regular check ins, and a free replacement if it's not working out in the first 90 days.
Bookkeeping questions
Is a bookkeeping VA a registered BAS agent?
No. Your VA does the day to day bookkeeping. In Australia, lodging BAS and giving tax advice for a fee needs a registered BAS or tax agent, so your VA works alongside your accountant rather than replacing them.
Which accounting software do they know?
Xero, MYOB and QuickBooks are the most common. Tell us what you use and we'll match you with someone who knows it.
Is my financial data safe?
Every VA signs a confidentiality agreement and works through their own login with the permissions you set. They don't need your personal banking passwords.
Other things a VA can take on
Want your books off your plate?
Book a free 20 minute call. Specialist roles like bookkeeping can take a little longer to fill, so the sooner we start the better.
